Waymore's boy and the wayback Jukebox

Sitting in Dunkin' Donuts this morning sipping the cheapest expensive cup of coffee that they sold. When did java get so expensive?

Well who remembers this great song that was piping through the ceiling? Der Kommisar, by (I think) Falco. Man, that's one from way back.

Just got back from the store. I bought the new one by Waymore's boy Shooter. Shooter Jennings. Called PUT THE O BACK IN COUNTRY. At first I was afraid I didn't understand it. Now I'm afraid I do. I think his main squeeze is that DeMateo chick from the Sopranos. She's hot.

Anyway, just wanted to put the tune to Der Kommisar in your head. It's catchy same as MC Hammer's U Can't Touch This was. They pretty much share the same bass line.

Pipedragger,
OK, good. Somebody does remember. It was the 80's and I was living on an Adams Class Destroyer that normally berthed at Naval Station San Diego (The Home of The Pacific Fleet. Hoo-Rah) Pier 1.

91X had just gone to a Prog Rock / Punk format (Wall of Voodoo, Clash, The Psychedelic Furs, Timbuk3, Kraftwerk, Gary Numan, etc) and I was listening to that quite a bit.

There were a lot of German acts at the time. Probably the only time Germany has been such a hip, happening place. There was Kraftwerk, Gary Numan, Falco and that gal who sang 99 Luftballoons.

Do you also remember that the songs Der Kommisar and 99 Luftballoons recieved airplay in both the English and the German versions? Or maybe that was just in California.

Good to hear from you. Make sure you wander your skinny butt on down to Florida every now and then. As you may recall, we put on a pretty good feed for our distinguised guests.

HaHa. I called you "distinguished"
